Influence of Axial Misalignments on Operation Regimes of THz-Range Double-Beam Gyrotron

Influence of electron beams misalignments on operation regimes of the 0.79 THz double-beam second-harmonic gyrotron is studied using 3D PIC (particle-in-cell) simulations. Two types of axial misalignments are considered, namely, the radial shift of both tubular electron beams and the tilt of the beams with respect to the cavity axis. It is shown that the most significant influence on the gyrotron parameters is provided by the beams' tilt. The simulation results allow us to explain some data obtained in the previous experiments.
