Resource allocation algorithm considering a priority of service classes for WiMedia UWB system

This paper proposes a resource allocation algorithm to guarantee quality of service (QoS) of a real time service in WiMedia ultra wideband (UWB) system. The proposed algorithm allocates the radio resource to reduce an access delay of the real time service based on the priority of service class, when the radio resource is insufficient. Moreover, the proposed algorithm exploits a call admission control (CAC) to keep the fairness among devices. By simulation results, the proposed algorithm can improve network throughput and reduce the average access delay of the real time service in WiMedia UWB system. In addition, simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can improve the fairness among devices compared to the legacy WiMedia system.
