The Prediction and Evaluation of Architectural Acoustic Performance for Fashion Show Theater

In the past, the textile industry was a key to pulling the development of the national economy. However, these days the domestic textile and fashion industry needs new changes because of the changing labor market and weak images of textile brands. In the circumstance, the Daegu Textile Complex being currently under construction is designed as a venue only for fashion shows for the first time in Korea. Once built completely, it is expected to give a great impact on the development and promotion of the domestic textile industry. Such a fashion show venue requir es a variety of acoustic performances including voice and music, so that it is necessary to investigate acoustic performances sufficiently in the design and planning steps. In reality, however, the investigation is perfunctory. Therefore, this study used acoustic simulation to look into whether the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Daegu Textile Complex has proper acoustic performances as a venue for fashion show only. It is considered that the study result will be used as a useful material when a venue similar to the complex will be designed and constructed.
