Wind measurement analysis for deployment urban small scale wind turbine

The wind energy usage is an attractive promise for the energy conscious people. This paper introduces and evaluates a small scale urban wind turbine application. Although the turbine works by its original characteristics, the output power/energy falls far away the expectations. The wind we feel daily in the cities may be too much for the human abstention but it is few for the nominal operation of the turbines that requires more than 40 km/h wind speed. We show also a calculation method where based on short-term local wind measurements we define the relation to other, long-term metering. The yearly production can be estimated on base of the decade long wind data.
