EXPERIENCES IN MAINTAINING THE QUALITY OF GAS INSULATED EQUIPMENT IN THE FIELD AND THEIR FEEDBACK TO THE DESIGN AND THE MANUFACTURING PROCESSES

ABSTRACT The performance and the reliability of gas insulated equipment are discussed on the basis of data collected in the past 17 years of experience. The complaints and the troubles have constantly been fed back to improve the design and the manufacturing processes of the equipment. The data collected in the internal inspections and maintenance work on normally operating equipment have proved of a very reliable nature to gas insulation. Some of the practical problems in the internal works on gas insulated equipment on site are also discussed in this paper.
