An Integrated Approach to Performance Evaluation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System Implementation

Inspiteoftheimmenseexpensesrelatedwithenterpriseresourceplanning(ERP)systemsexecution anduse,itseffectonorganizationalperformancestaysvague.Thegoalofthisstudywastoempirically examinetheimpactofERPimplementationanduseonthelong-termperformanceoforganizations. Thisresearchleveragesthreefundamentalspecificationsfortheexaminationofimpactsasfollows: performanceratios(ROA,ROE,ROI,ROS),laborproductivity(productionfunction),andstockmarket valuation(Tobin’sQ).Thisresearchusedatotalofsixyearsoffinancialdatafrom47organizations inThailandthatimplementanduseERPsystem.Thefindingsrevealthatapost-adoptionperiodof morethanfouryearsmaybeneededinordertoobserveasignificantimpactfromERPinvestments onorganizationalperformance.
