Transient Stability Computation of Multi-unit System Considering Detailed Models of Hydraulic System

The simplification in hydraulic system models is one of the main factors restricting the improvement of transient simulation of power systems.Different models of complex hydraulic system are given in this paper for power system transient stability analysis, including the rigid water-hammer model, elastic water-hammer model of conduit system and the linearized or nonlinear model of hydroturbine. Dynamic process computation of multi-unit system with complex conduit system is carried out with a disturbance. The effect of different conduit system and hydroturbine models in transient stability is compared and analyzed.
