News of Terror Attacks in Cumhuriyet Newspaper 2010-2018 Period

According to this; 54 (45.4%) of the 119 news, attack took place with firearms. In 86 (72.3%) news, target of the attack was security forces. In 63 (52.9%) news, the per- petrator was not mentioned directly. In 53 (44.5%) news, no image was used and 16 (69%) of the 23 attacks that took place in public spaces where there are intensive civilians and social relations are carried out were in the headlines. Conclusions: It has been seen that Cumhuriyet Newspaper is creating news content in accordance with the principles and rules emphasized in the “Cumhuriyet Newspaper Publication Principles”. It is understood that the newspaper, like most broadcasting organizations, builds its headlines in a way that attracts the reader's interest and curiosity in both verbal and visual terms. In general terms; it was observed that the newspaper did not avoid sub- jective interpretations, contains messenging content and emotional expression. Therefore, it was seen that the newspaper conveyed the terrorist attacks with more thematic expression.
