Policy-based Resource Provisioning in Optical Grid Service Network

The use of the available fiber and DWDM infrastructure for the global Grid network is an attractive proposition ensuring global reach and huge amounts of cheap bandwidth. Fiber and DWDM networks have been great enablers of the World Wide Web fulfilling the capacity demand generated by Internet traffic and are expected to play an important role in creating an efficient infrastructure for supporting Grid applications. This article proposed a service level agreement applied to the optical domain which is worked as grid network service. We give an explanation of rationale behind an optical SLA and then put forward the parameters that could be included in this optical SLA. Different grid application and service type are distinguished when necessary. In this paper, we also propose a policy-based resource provisioning approach to services client in this optical SLA.
