Robust Optimization for Airline Company to Select Hub Airports

When the company design the hub and spoke network,they must select a subset of p airports of maximum total return out of a set of n available airports with uncertain return.Due to the uncertainty of the environment,the forecast of the return would be different with the fact.In order to evade risk,another approach is to estimate the range of the value.Moreover it is often impossible to assume any specific probability distributions for the unknown value.Now,we use robust optimization to solve this problem.We develop an polynomial algorithm which improves the previously known algorithm.Based on the previously algorithm,our algorithm improves the order of complexity from O((min{p,n-p})~2n) to(O((min{p,n-p})n).)
