CoModel: A Modelica-Based Collaborative Design Web Platform for CPS Products

The increasing complexity of industrial products demands changes of product design methods. Traditional single-stand-alone and respective design of industrial product has been difficult to meet the needs of the modern CPS product design. In this paper, we present a web-based collaborative system design platform-CoModel. CoModel provides a united modeling and simulation environment for designing multi-domain physical system, such as CPS, in a MBSE way based on Modelica. Moreover, expert base and knowledge base are provided for enterprises to support one-stop design of product innovation. The design process and collaboration mechanism of CoModel are explained in this paper. Its capability to design complex CPS product is demonstrated by an example that designs a four rotorcraft. In addition, a flight test of the four rotorcraft is given to prove the effectiveness of design on CoModel.
