Regular and Diffuse Reflection

Chapter 13: Light 473 Light may be emitted by the Sun, pass through the atmosphere and a window, bounce off your face, bounce off a mirror, and finally enter your eye. You see the light as if it came from your reflection. When your eyes and brain put together the information, you see your reflection as if the light had come through the mirror from behind. In a ray diagram, people often use dashed lines to show where the light appears to be coming from. In Chapter 14, dashed lines will help you see how your image in a mirror is formed.
