Taking the advantage of superior performance of direct digital synthesis(DDS)in bandwidth,speed of frequency change,linearity of FM and so on,a Stepped-Frequency source having four independent channels generted by direct digital syn- thesis (DDS)chip AD9959 is designed.Combined with 3 V low power receiver IF subsystem chip AD607,a superheterodyne re- ceiver is designed.This design of SFCW based on DDS used on Stepped-frequency ground penetrating radar could be easily done and the performance is stable and highly effective.
