Analysis of Ride comfort and Road holding of Quarter car model by SIMULINK

Abstract Automobile industry is striving for improvement in design and to provide high speed vehicles with passenger comfort. Riders comfortbecomes a very important issue for new developed modern vehicles. Quarter-car model is being used for years to study the car dynamics. The present work is carried out to investigate performance of vehicles in terms ride comfort and road holding. Analysis of the dynamic response of ride performance and road holding is carried out using a two degree of freedom system quarter-car model. The equations of system are solved by MATLAB SIMULINK that used to analyses behaviour of system and find out effect damping coefficient, stiffness, sprung mass and velocity on ride comfort and road holding.
