Using Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 program language, this paper presents a way to operate the data of terrain through ADO Data Control and Data Grid Control, The 3D geographic simulation and interactive animation of terrain are realized by OpenGL. Based on Client/Server structure, this paper designs an ActiveX Control through an encapsulation of 3D graphics drawn with OpenGL. The database in server is operated with ASP and ADO technologies. The ActiveX Control gets data downloaded over the Internet from the database server, and displays the 3D dynamic interactive graphics on the client end.
