STATE TRANSITION MODEL OF A DISCRETE-TIME SERIAL REPAIRABLE SYSTEM

This paper discusses an n-unit discrete-time serial repairable system in which the failure rate and repair rate of each unit are all supposed to be non-negative constants.A state transition model is proposed based on failure rate and repair rate.The reliability performances such as reliability,mean time to first failure (MTTFF) and instantaneous availability of the system are obtained via the proposed model.Some textbook examples are given to illustrate the new model.
