Random Vehicle Vibrations

Abstract Random vibrations of vehicles are excited by stochastic guideway irregularities. The colored noise excitation processes are modeled by shape filters where especially the spatial character of real guideways has to be treated. The vehicles are modeled mathematically as multibody systems consisting of rigid bodies, springs and dampers. Further dynamical phenomena are due to the perception of random vibrations by the passenger. The resulting dynamical system is investigated by the covariance analysis very qualified for complex vehicle systems.
