Combined acromioclavicular dislocation with coracoclavicular ligament disruption and coracoid process fracture

A fracture of the coracoid process associated with a thirddegree acromioclavicular joint separation is a rare injury. No case has been previously reported in the English language literature of an adult with a coracoclavicular ligament disruption present simultaneously. This unique combination of lesions in the lateral clavicular restraining complex requires two separate mechanisms of injury. A case report is presented, and proposed mechanisms of injury, treatment, and a review of the literature are discussed.
