Upper limits on number of cores for multi-core SMFs over trans-oceanic distances at 100Gbps

Using the GN model, we show that a maximum of 5-7 cores/fiber can be accommodated with 220pm cladding diameter for <; 0.25dB Q degradation with 100Gbps PM-QPSK transmission over 6000-12000km reaches with bend radii of 50-200mm.
