No Pain No Gain: Synthetic Muscles for Synthetic Bodies∗

This paper describes a synthetic muscular approach for the creation of synthetic character bodies. It explains how the approach was used to create the Kewbies, an invertebrate abstract synthetic life form, and the first results of this on-going work.
