A load balancing multi-path routing(LBMPR) protocol in wireless sensor networks was proposed because of energy limitation of sensor nodes.Based on geographical location of each node, several paths from source nodes to the sink node could be obtained in LBMPR.Data communications were evenly distributed on different paths, thus load balancing between nodes could be achieved and it also prolonged the lifetime of networks.Simulation results show that LBMPR can obtain better load balancing capability than mesh-2 and mesh-3 by proper selections of parameters a and b.
