MOOC and Blended Learning Models: Analysis from a Stakeholders' Perspective

InterestisgrowingineducationaldesignsthatblendMOOCswithon-campusteachingandresearchers areseekingtoincorporatethespiritofaMOOCintoahybridmodel.Thisarticlereportsonthe currentexperienceofahighereducationinstitutionembarkingonblendedlearningmodels.Theaim ofthisarticleistopresentacasestudyandtodiscussthestrategicapproachtointegratingaMOOC atundergraduatelevel.Theevaluationstrategyofthisexperienceusessurveysandfocusgroupsto interpret theresultsandtheperspectiveofthevariousstakeholders.Theanalysissynthesizesthe opinionofthemainstakeholders–theinstitution,thestudentsandtheacademicstaff–andshows thatinadditiontoimprovingthefinancialviabilityofMOOCs,blendedlearningmodelsimprovethe qualityofstudents’education,strengthenstudents’academicperformance,andencourageacademic stafftoconstantlyinnovatetheirteachingandlearningprocess.
