Power Quality Improvement Method Using EV for PV Output Fluctuation

Using an electric vehicle (EV) as a power-storage device yields an inferior response to power fluctuations, compared to a normal power-storage battery, owing to the limited communication speed between the power-supply device and the EV. The power quality can thus be significantly impaired. We report a method for improving the power quality on a load, when using an EV as an effective charge-storage device to suppress PV fluctuations. The power quality on the load is thus demonstrably improved when a capacitor is introduced in the system.
