An end-to-end QoS architecture with the MPLS-based core

The article describes an architecture for providing end-to-end quality of service transport between customer premises, using a multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) based core network. It analyzes various protocols and technologies used in different parts of the overall network and their interoperability. The article ties together IETF-defined MPLS mechanisms, such as MPLS support of the differentiated services (DiffServ) architecture, with the MPLS Forum defined MPLS user-to-network interface to present a complete end-to-end QoS architecture.
