Calculation of interfacial tensions

Abstract The objective of the article is to derive a simple equation for the calculations of interfacial tensions. This equation is only based on known fundamental relationships of thermodynamics and their integration across the interfacial layer. A comparison of interfacial tensions calculated for ideal behaviour of 58 systems with known measured data shows a fairly good agreement for most systems.
