The invention relates to a method and mobile communication equipment of answering and hanging up a communication. The method and the mobile communication equipment of the communication answering and hanging up are applied to mobile communication equipment which is provided with an accelerated speed inductor and an infrared approach sensor. Based on an accelerated speed inducing technique and an infrared approach sensing technique, the method includes receiving a communication request, judging that the mobile communication equipment is in a static state through the accelerated speed inductor, sensing an approach motion of a user through the infrared approach sensor and recording approach time T, when the recorded approach time T is less than or equal to T0, accepting the communication request and starting a hands-free function, and when the T is larger than T0, rejecting the communication request. Effects of answering or hanging up a communication in a remote operation mode are achieved, so that other operations which are carried out by two hands of users are less disturbed, without contacting the equipment body, users can answer or hang up the communication just with fingers sweeping a reasonable region above the equipment, convenience and intelligence of mobile phone operation are enhanced, and user experience is improved.
