PVA assisted synthesis of nanosized perovskite PZT powder by a two-stage precipitation route

Abstract Nanosized PbZr 0.52 Ti 0.48 O 3 (PZT) powders are synthesized by a two-stage precipitation route assisted with the polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) evaporation. DTA/TG and XRD were employed to investigate the thermal behavior and phase evaluation of the PZT precursor with PVA polymer. The particle size of the powder calcined at different temperature was observed and characterized by FESEM. The results show that the process provides a technically simple route for the preparation of nanosized, narrow particle distribution and free dense agglomerate PZT powder at low calcination temperature.
