Radar target detection in the formation based on cyclostationarity and FRFT

This paper deals with the Doppler frequency of radar target in formation.A radar target number estimation method based on cyclostationairy analysis is proposed.The radar echoes of formation targets usually approximate the sum of multiple linear frequency modulation(LFM) signals with constant amplitude and equal FM coefficient.Therefore,the cyclostationairy analysis is utilized to estimate the FM coefficient.Then,the fractional Fourier transform(FRFT) is used to estimate the target number.This method is simple in computation and easy in engineering implement.Moreover,this method has higher resolution ability than Fourier transform and WVD.Experimental result on actual echoes illustrate the effectiveness of the method,and reliable estimation of targets number under short data.
