Shield wire loss reduction for double circuit transmission lines

A significant loss reduction property in a particular phasing arrangement for vertical double circuit transmission lines is discussed. This conductor arrangement is sometimes referred to as low-reactance phasing, where the conductors of the two circuits, from top to bottom, are arranged in reverse order. Low-reactance phasing is compared with superbundle phasing, where conductors of the two circuits are arranged in the same order from top to bottom, and conversion of superbundle to low-reactance phasing is recommended. >
