IMT-2000 Satellite Radio Interface for UMTS Communications over Mobile Satellite Systems

This paper provides an overview of the configurations and performance of the 3GPP UTRA FDD WCDMA radio interface to operate over a satellite link. A technical study has been carried in ETSI by the satellite earth satellite technical committee (TC SES) via the mobile satellite system working group. The configurations and performance of the WCDMA over a satellite link are described in the recently published technical specification set.
