The analytical solution of the studied problem of consolidation of composite ground with granular columns under time\|dependent loading universal in practical engineering are presented. These solutions and relevant computations were used to investigate the influences of the loading time and a few ground parameters on the consolidation process. It is shown that, the longer the loading time, the slower the consolidation rate. The ratio of radiuses, the ratio of column radius and column length, the compressibility modulus of the column body, all affect the consolidation process significantly. Differences exist between the composite ground consolidation characteristics calculated by the two seepage models respectively. For the same ground parameters, the consolidation rate of composite ground with granular columns is fastest if the radial and vertical drain within the column is considered.
