Semi-Empirical Method of Hall Thrusters Lifetime Prediction

The semi-empirical model of Hall-effect thruster lifetime prediction is presented in this paper. The model is based on the thruster insulators sputtering prediction by the known sputtering in the first hours of the thruster operation. The physical and mathematical model of prediction and algorithm of its realization are presented. An example of experimental validation of the model is presented too. The model was validated during the life tests of Hall-effect thrusters with nominal power of 325 and 900 W.
