Linear-to-linear high directional antenna using transmission polarization metasurface

We propose a linear-to-linear transmission polarization metasurface antenna (TPMS antenna), which includes a patch antenna covered with a transmission polarization metasurface (TPMS) structure. The TPMS receives the linear polarized signal generated from the patch antenna, and then converts it to cross-polarized signal. The designed the patch antenna and TPMS antenna work at around 10.58 GHz. The TPMS has a wide band transform ratio, which can cover the operation band of the patch antenna. Moreover, the simulated results show that the realized gain of the TPMS antenna at 10.58 GHz increase significantly comparing patch antenna only. Based on the designing technique, a set of polarized conversion antenna can be developed and may be applied in the future.
