Method and apparatus for converting depth image to high-resolution

PURPOSE: A method for converting a depth image into a high-definition image and a device thereof are provided to apply depth image up-scaling, color-depth similarity based filtering, and boundary sharpening filtering to the depth image, thereby improving resolution of the depth image. CONSTITUTION: A depth image up-scalar increase resolution of a depth image through up-scaling of the depth image using interpolation(210). A color-depth similarity based filter removes noise in the depth image by using a color image and the depth image(220). A boundary sharpening filter clearly converts a boundary among objects in the depth image(230).
