MARINE APPLICATIONS FOR FUEL CELL TECHNOLOGY

Fuel cell research and development that began in the mid 1970s has resulted in technologies that are almost ready for commercial use by land-based utility companies. Many of the benefits that fuel cells will provide to these utilities could also apply in the marine field. Significant issues affecting marine fuel cell use are discussed and potential marine applications are considered.
