Microstructural Description of Cerebral Tissues from Diffusion Spectrum Imaging Data

Micro-structural indexes based on a novel reconstruction method for diffusion MRI data have recently been proposed. Nevertheless, the validation of such descriptors is still on the way and no data are currently available in the literature on human subjects. In this work we derive such descriptors on a a group of human Diffusion Spectrum Imaging (DSI) data. First results show that such measures hold higher sensitivity and specificity as numerical biomarkers with respect to classical measures.
