A Novel Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm ?

Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is one of the newly developed intelligence optimization algorithms. With its simple concept, minimum parameter configuration and scalable performance, PSO has become a promising optimization tool which gains extensive attention. Partly Informed Particle Swarm Optimization (PI-PSO) and Adaptive Partly Informed Particle Swarm Optimization (API-PSO) are proposed in this paper. These two algorithms have been evaluated on functionality in different dimensions. Results suggest that PI-PSO and API-PSO provides better search efficiency than Fully Informed Particle Swarm Optimization (FIPSO) respectively. They enhance the performance in terms of convergence speed, global optimality, solution accuracy, and algorithm reliability.
