Solar Car Body Design and Resistance Research

For the initial design flaw of electric car,there is more air resistance on body.To solve these problems,CFD software Fluent was used to study the air resistance characteristics when the solar car was running on the level road as well as its relation with the speed;After analyzing the calculation results of air resistance,the optimization design of the body model was carried out;At the same time,the body air resistance before and after the optimization was studied.The calculation results show that: the pressure resistance is the main air resistance resulted from the automobile which increases with the speed on proportion;air resistance increases as speed increases;If travelling faster,the effect on drag reduction optimization is more obvious;the size of air resistance has maximum relation with the size of inlet and the rear shape of the vehicle body.
