Strategic event manager: Leader and group orinetated practices of knowledge transfer

This paper investigates how knowledge transfer occurs in the fast-paced and highly demanding operational environment of tourism event teams. Firstly we evaluate the team leader's view, and secondly we investigate group - oriented leadership practices that enable knowledge sharing and transfer. With semi-structured interviews we identify drivers that foster knowledge transfer and explore influencing factors from both 1) team-leader and 2) group-oriented leadership practices. Results provide exploratory evidence on factors that contribute to knowledge transfer and ultimately impacts on organisational success.
