Investigation and Discussion on the Problem of Primary and Secondary School Dropouts in Poor Areas

China's compulsory nine-year education has achieved great success. But the phenomenon of rural students dropping out of school can still be seen in many places, and is particularly acute in poor areas. What has led to this phenomenon? With this question in mind, the investigative unit of the World Bank Monetary Fund project—"Study and Countermeasures for the Problem of Primary and Secondary School Students in Poor Areas Repeating and Dropping Out"—went to a poor area of Jiangxi province to carry out the investigation.
