A Self-tuning PID Controller Based on Expert System

Abstract This paper introduces a PID controller with self-tuning function. It may provide optimal PID control parameters. The self-tuning algorithm based on the expert system and pattern recognition has quick convergence speed through the application of the new characteristic variables and the distinctive pre-tuning formulae. The uniformed self-tuning formula is also presented, which makes it easy to implement and maintain the expert system based on the single chip micro-processor.
