How to determine the trimming contour is a very hard work.In this paper,a new method based on the finite element deformation path iteration has been suggested as an effective tool to resolve the main problem in the sheet metal forming process for determining the cutting contour.In this paper,the diagram of the optimum trimming line procedure was schemed.The deformation path iteration method's basic arithmetic was researched.The modification of shape error volume for optimizing trimming line was analyzed here.Then,the definition of shape error based on the deformation path iteration was discussed.In order to verify the convergence of the iteration,the reliability of the results,and the feasibility of the proposed method in engineering,a complex part example was investigated.It will reduce the trial-and-error times or periods and save the manufacture costs as a result of the application of the optimum cutting contour calculated by the proposed method.
