A mathematical model for the hydraulic networks of mechanical hoisting reclamations

The paper presents a method of modelling a mechanical hoisting reclamation. The aim of the construction of this model is to provide an efficient tool for studying, by means of a digital computer, the behaviour of a drainage system under different conditions. For this purpose, conventional hydraulic methods are not directly appliable but, through the system approach, an input-state-output description has been obtained for the reclamation by using techniques drawn from the hydraulic storage method. The model has been programmed on a digital computer and used to examine the behaviour of a reclamation system; some interesting results of this simulation procedure are presented at the end of the paper.
