A Novel Approach to Calculate Damping Factor Based Delay Margin for Wide Area Damping Control

This letter presents a novel calculation approach of damping factor based delay margin by adopting Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and integral inequality. The proposed approach has the advantages of less conservatism and faster computation speed. It can guide wide area damping controller (WADC) design under the condition of given damping factor and required signal transmission delay.
