Optimized Total Harmonic Distortion PWM in Five Level Inverter with Differential evolution approach

In this paper, the optimized total harmonic distortion technique (OTHD) is processed in order to generate high quality output spectrum in five level inverter. To do so, the switching angles are derived by solving a non-linear equation based on the differential evolution method. Using the obtained switching angles, the THD value of the output voltage is computed for several modulation index. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed PWM, the results are compared with two kinds of multi-carries PWM (POD and APOD).
