In conclusion, we believe we have made a first systematic comparison between theory and experiment for 1.3-/spl mu/m truncated gain coupled (GC) DFB lasers. Experimental correlation among laser properties is compared, which agrees well with theoretical predictions under the influence of random laser facet phases. This type of laser has the potential to be used for high-speed, coolerless, array, and integration applications.
