Open loop control of a unity power factor, discontinuous conduction mode boost rectifier

The boost rectifier, when operated in discontinuous conduction mode and constant duty ratio, has a power factor less than unity, which approaches unity at the expense of high conversion ratios. The proposed control scheme corrects this problem by providing unity power factor, even for low conversion ratios, in an open loop fashion at constant switching frequency.
