HUMAN OPERATOR CONTROLS SYSTEMS: II. THE INTERACTION OF DISPLAY MODE, CONTROL SYSTEM DYNAMICS AND COURSE FREQUENCY,

Abstract : The experiment studied the interaction of the parameters of mode of information display, control system dynamics and course frequency in a man-machine system where the human operator exerted closed-loop control in one-dimension. The experimental conditions were formed from all possible combinations of following and compensatory display, three complex courses of different frequencies; and position, rate and acceleration control dynamics. A significant three-factor interaction was found between display mode, course frequency and control system dynamics. (Author)
