Adaptive Multi-User Proportional Fair Scheduler for Orthogonal Random Beamforming in MIMO Systems

The orthogonal random beamforming is a practical scheme to increase the throughput of the MIMO system significantly. But the fairness allover the subscribers is the weak point. In this paper, the proportional fair scheduling scheme is introduced to the ORBF scheme for the multi-user MIMO systems and two adaptive proportional fair scheduling schemes are proposed to increase the throughput of the subscribers in bad channel conditions. In each timeslot, the adaptive parameters are updated for each subscriber by monitoring the requested data rate and the mean of the requested data rate in the past period. The proposed schemes guarantee the fairness allover the systems with a little lose of the throughput. And the simulation results show the validity
