In this study, design optimization for axial compressor rotor blade was done using computational fluid dynamics. An aerodynamic efficiency and lieblein diffusion factor were selected to make an objective function during optimization process. The lieblein diffusion factor was chosen to estimate stall margin. For structural stability, a safety factor was adopted for constraint. With 12 design variables, kriging surrogate model was constructed using design of experiment method. The optimum was found with genetic algorithm
